KuKu Farms | See Details — Our Portfolio Featured as the June Cover Story in Architectural Digest, the Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis residence ‘KuKu Farms’ garnered significant public attention for its stunning fusion of a modern and rustic aesthetic. California Energy Designs served as the MEP Engineer on this mid-century modern home built by Backen & Gillam Architects. Located in the heart of Downtown LA, The Terrace is a multi-unit residential complex comprising 45 three-story townhomes with stunning skyline views. California Energy Designs served as the project’s mechanical engineer, designing HVAC & Plumbing systems with wellness-enhancing & energy-efficient elements. The Echo Park development included overhead ventilation systems with stove exhaust fan units and a plumbing design featuring a tankless water heating system, reduced pressure zone device, and pressure booster pump system to increase water pressure for residents.
