Wilshire High-Rise Condos | Cooling Tower Retrofit

Built in 1982, Ten Five Sixty Wilshire is a luxury condominium complex known for its famous, high-profile residents. A high-rise multi-family structure offering 108 units on 22 floors in LA’s prized Wilshire Corridor, Ten Five Sixty earned a reputation for its lavish amenities—including complimentary valet parking, concierge services, a conference room, a fitness facility, swimming pool, sauna, and spa—and luxury living. The structure underwent a renovation in 2016 to modernize its energy & resource supply systems for improved sustainability and reliability.

California Energy Designs provided mechanical engineering services for the building’s new HVAC systems, designing for both resident comfort and long-term viability. The replacement of the facility’s original cooling tower also included implementation of water treatment and management devices to reduce risk of corrosion of the equipment. As with any retrofit project, our aim is to ensure the new air conditioning system design is not only capable of ensuring strict physical environment controls, but also, to do such in an energy-efficient manner that is engineered for long-term sustainability.
