Our expert staff of hand-selected engineers and draftsmen have successfully completed over 13,000 commercial, residential, and industrial projects. With licenses in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska, this small, imaginative team utilizes their expertise in engineering and drafting to produce innovative custom HVAC-R and Plumbing designs.

With prior work ranging from 50,000 sq. ft. private residences to custom Air-Quality control systems for Boeing aerospace and Amgen pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, our consulting engineers have worked in nearly all environmental and building formats.

Our History
Since 1977, California Energy Designs has served architects, engineers, developers, and contractors on their industrial, commercial, and residential projects. Our firm prides itself on having a small, hand-selected, well qualified, and imaginative staff in order to ensure the finest quality and timeliest completion of all projects.
1977
Established
Founded in 1977, California Energy Designs began with a focus on serving architects, engineers, and developers with energy-efficient HVAC/R designs.
1991
Acquires
Engineering firm, Kelly-Stewart-Goldstein, became a division of California Energy Designs. Originally formed in 1944, the firm specialized in large governmental and utility company projects.
2018
Relocates
Moving from La Cañada Flintridge to Burbank, our new offices brought us closer to new neighbors like Lockheed Martin, Warner Brothers, and Disney.
2019
Reorganizes
Fitting new growth and expansion in Burbank, California Energy Designs was reorganized under the leadership of its longtime employees & executive team. We look forward to the next chapter of continued growth.

Gabriel Gagnon
Chief Executive Officer
Gabriel joined the company as a draftsman and soon worked his way to Project Manager, eventually becoming the company President, and later, CEO of our organization.
Asbed Khachatoorian
Senior Project Manager
Asbed was hand-selected out of university for his distinguished accomplishments, having won consecutive ASHRAE awards in System Selection as a student. Since, he has worked his way up into our leadership.

Licensed in multiple states, Luis Dozal brings a strong mechanical engineering background and plumbing design expertise to our team.
